NAACHHS receives generous funding from Legacy Heritage Fund Limited and the support of the Jewish Education Service of North America (JESNA) and the Institute for Informal Jewish Education (IJE) at Brandeis University. These community leaders and organizations have recognized the importance of the supplemental community Hebrew high school model for educating Jewish high school students throughout North America.

School kidsCommunity Hebrew high schools are an unheralded asset for the American Jewish community. At a time when the community is rightly concerned about its ability to transmit Jewish traditions to future generations, these schools are offering Jewish teens serious Jewish study and enhancing the development of their Jewish identity. Yet these schools see too little support from the larger Jewish community.

It is striking how few Jewish adolescents remain involved in Jewish education through their high school years. With greater support from all facets of the Jewish community, the community Hebrew high schools could be reaching a substantially larger number of Jewish teens providing unparalleled learning and socialization opportunities within a pluralistic framework.
