Governance

NAACHHS is governed by an executive board of officers, including the President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and three members-at-large. Standing committees include:

  • Membership committee, to promote recruitment and retention of the network's membership.
  • Conference committee, to plan and implement the annual conference, in cooperation with the director.
  • Communications/PR committee, to work with the director to plan and implement internal network communications, strengthen relations with other Jewish education organizations, enhance public recognition of the network and the field of CHHS, and work with the director to develop the network's website and other technological means of communication.
  • Development committee, to develop fundraising plans and pursue grant opportunities.
  • Programming committee, to develop and implement innovative programming within the network.
  • Nominating committee, to nominate individuals as candidates for board positions.

Since 2004, this group of providers of Jewish high school programs has formed a cohesive network providing an essential youth education experience. With the help of the Institute for Informal Jewish Education (IJE) at Brandeis University, virtually every CHHS in North America has been identified and brought into contact with its fellow schools. For the next three years, NAACHHS will be funded by Legacy Heritage Fund Limited, and will build on the foundation and that has already been laid. This professionally managed network will now provide schools with essential means of learning, communication and growth on an ongoing basis.
